Liquid Ring Pumps

Liquid ring pumps are sealed with liquid and are ideal for pumping wet gas mixtures and even slugs of liquid. They are available in standard, all iron (no copper), and 316 stainless steel. Low pressure performance is limited by the vapor pressure of the sealing liquid which can be water, oil, or process liquids. Most liquid ring pumps require water cooling, but air-cooled systems are available.

Single stage pumps operate best above 250 Torr and two stage pumps below.

Booster/Liquid Ring Pump Systems

Vacuum boosters matched with liquid ring pumps have higher capacity and can pump at lower pressures than liquid ring pumps alone. These systems are ideal for pumping wet gas mixtures at low pressures. Peak operation is available over a moderate pressure range. A wide variety of two stage and three stage systems are available. Oil-filled systems can avoid problems with corrosive contaminants and vapor pressure of sealant liquid at low pressures with warm sealant.

Vapor Handling Systems

VHS Vapor Handling Systems

Kinney Vapor Handling Vacuum Systems were specifically designed for use in wet or corrosive processes where large quantities of condensable or oil soluble gases must be pumped at low pressures. Kinney Vapor Handling Vacuum Systems are unique packaged systems which combine an oil sealed rotary piston vacuum pump and a liquid ring vacuum pump. The liquid ring pump maintains low pressure in the oil reservoir into which the mechanical pump discharges process gases or vapors, thus preventing contamination of the sealing oil. Vapor handling systems can also be incorporated with mechanical boosters; see KMBD/KT.
