Sioux Electric Motor Driven unit for Hazardous Environments
Sioux Electric Motor Driven, Electrically Heated. Specifically Designed for Hazardous Environments

Sioux's All-Electric steam cleaners, pressure washers and combination cleaners are ideal for indoor/outdoor use, and in hazardous environments. Unlike fuel-fired machines, Sioux's All-Electric line produces no fumes, exhaust or open flames. This makes our cleaners well suited for indoor application and enclosed spaces where air quality is a concern. Sioux's entire line of All-Electric steam cleaners are ETL listed, providing third-party certification to UL-1776 and the Canadian Standards Association CSA C-22.2 No. 68-92. This equipment meets the U.S. and Canadian National Electric Codes and complies with OSHA Regulation 1910.303 (a). Sioux All-Electric cleaners can operate continuously without a decrease in the discharge within moments of startup. To install, just connect the cleaner to your plant's electrical source and water supply.

All-Electric Features:

The electrical system includes water-tight NEMA 4 enclosures, internal branch circuit fusing and components which meet NEC standards. Motor starters have thermal protection, oil-tight switches and indicator light. An optional machine disconnect switch allows users to shut off power at the machine. The heating element is constructed of Incoloy® sheathed element rods, enclosed in a flanged, hydrostatically tested housing. Flanged heating elements are used on all H4 and H8 cleaners operating below 1,200 psi. High pressure H8 cleaners (1,200 through 3,000 psi) are equipped with encapsulated heating elements to reduce weight and improve machine stability.

Explosion-Proof, All-Electric Units for Hazardous Environments

All models (steam cleaners, hot water pressure washers, and combination cleaners) can be built to explosion-proof specifications. Explosion-Proof units are designed for use in hazardous and potentially volatile environments. In addition to meeting the All-Electric standards above, Sioux explosion-proof models are also ETL certified to UL-1203, "Explosion-Proof and Dust Ignition-Proof Electrical Equipment for use in Hazardous (Classified) Locations," and Canadian CSA C22.2 No. 30-92

Clean Air Assurance

Sioux's All- Electric steam cleaners, pressure washers and combination cleaners are ideal for indoor/outdoor use, and in potentially hazardous environments. Unlike fuel-fired washers, Sioux's All-Electric line produces no fumes, exhaust or open flames. This makes our cleaners well-suited for indoor applications and enclosed spaces where air quality is a concern.

Powerful, Non-Stop Cleaning Capability

You can operate Sioux All-Electric cleaners continuously without a decrease in ddischarge water temperature. Sioux uses an immersion heater design in which water is heated as it passes through a heating vessel. No preheating or recovery time is required which means hot water is available within several minutes (not time is wasted waiting for a storage reservoir to heat). The Sioux design assures a constant discharge water temperature so cleaning effectiveness is not compromised.

Easy to Install and Operate

Our All-Electric cleaners are designed with a minimal number of controls and moving parts, making them simple to operate and easy to service. Our All-Electric line makes set-up easy, requiring only an electrical hookup and a water supply. We use3 over-sized components that operate below full capacity, resulting in longer, trouble-free operation. Sioux maintains a full-service Parts Department and a Technical Services Department to support its equipment.

All-Electric Steam Cleaners

are ideal for melting grease and oil, as well as sterilizing, disinfecting, degreasing and degasing. Low pressure saturated steam is great for stripping loose paint or preparing surfaces before painting or other treatments. Steam also flushes away chemicals and poisons, disolves resins, paraffin and tars, de-ices, and kills algae and mildew.

All-Electric Hot Pressure Washers

produce high pressure hot water to blast away grime, encrusted dirt and oily films. High pressure hot water greatly increases the cleaning power of detergents and chemicals. Cold pressure wash is available for rinsing by turning off the heating element.

Explosion-Proof Cleaners Specially Designed for Hazardous Locations

Sioux's Explosion-Proof cleaners are rugged, durable cleaners designed for use in hazardous environments, where safety is critical. These cleaners feature explosion-proof components, and a heavy-duty sealed cast aluminum enclosure with galvanized steel conduit. Explosion-Proof construction is available on Siouz's entire line of All-Electric steam cleaners, hot/cold pressure washers and combination cleaners. This equipment meets the National Electric Code (NEC) and complies with OSHA Regulation 1910.303(a).

Sioux Explosion-Proof Cleaners are approved for use in the following classifications:

Class I Flammable Gases or Vapors Class II Explosive Dusts

Division 1
  • Concentrations of Gasses or Vapors exhist under normal operating conditions

Division 2

  • Concentration of Gases or Vapors are normally prevented
  • Group C Atmospheres such as Cyclopropane, Ethyl Ether, Ethylene, or gases or vapors equivalent in hazard.
  • NOTE - Equipment must be special ordered with Group C motor.
  • Group D atmospheres such as acetone, alcohol, ammonia, benzene, benzol, butane, gasoline, hexane, lacquer solvents, naphtha, natural gas, propane or gases or vapors equivalent in hazard.

Please note that All Models (steam cleaners, hot pressure washers, and combinatiion units) with the explosion-proof option meet Class 1, Division 1 and 2, Group C and D.
Division 1
  • Explosive dists exist under normal operating conditions.

Division 2

  • Explosive dusts are normally prevented.
  • Group E atmospheres containing metal dust and outher combustible dusts including aluminum, magnesium, and their commercial alloys, and other metals of similarly hazardous characteristics.
  • NOTE - Not appropriate for atmospheres containing Uranium, Thorium, or Zirconium dust.
  • Group F Carbon black, charcoal, coal, or coke and similar materials.

Only hot pressure washers with the explosion-proof option will meet requirement for Class II, Division 1 and 2, Group E and F
